Details of the 2019 ESFS Business Meeting

This is the first announcement of details of the ESFS General Meeting for 2019. It will take place at TitanCon 2019: The Eurocon on the 22nd to the 25th of August 2019.

First:

Nominations for the ESFS Awards are now open.

Closing date for submissions is the 22nd of July 2019.

Nominations should be submitted through the webform.

There should only be a single nomination from each country, as selected by their own rules. In the event of multiple nominations from one country, only matching nominations or nominations without a competing name will be accepted. In the event that all ballots from one country contain different names, there will be no nominees accepted for that country.

In the event of the webform malfunctioning, the nominations may be submitted via email to contact_esfs AT esfs DOT info.

The list of awards and their requirements is available on the ESFS website here.

N.B. Awards before 1990 are not Hall of Fame awards, and are not covered by the ‘once only’ rule.

Minutes for the 2018 Business Meeting are available here. Please take the time to review.

Third:

Below is the Draft agenda for the 2019 Business Meeting. The items in this list may occur in any order, and the final agenda will not be released until closer to the event.

  • Minutes.
  • Reports.
  • Nominations to the board of the ESFS. (To serve between 2019-2022)
  • Ratification of business passed on from Eurocon 2018.
  • 2020 Presentation, and questions.
  • 2021 Bid Presentations.
  • Pre-bid notifications.
  • Award Presentations.
  • Final Bid Questions
  • Vote for Eurocon 2021.
  • Vote for the Board of the ESFS. (To serve between 2019-2022)
  • Votes for Awards
  • Announcement of Site Selection Results.

Fourth:

If you wish to raise any business at the Business Meeting please submit such requests in advance. No motions will be accepted from the floor of the Business Meeting.

Fifth:

In order to help us plan the timing of the Business Meeting, anyone who wishes to bid for a Eurocon, especially the 2021 Eurocon,  should contact the ESFS board via contact_esfs AT esfs DOT info  by the 22nd of July 2019.

Sixth:

At the St. Petersburg Eurocon we passed new rules for the ESFS awards, which were confirmed at the Barcelona Eurocon. The ESFS awards have had a significant changes, so please familiarise yourselves with the current rules before nominating.
